NATIONAL

For those swimmers (must be in high school) with the ability and the desire to train at a very high level.  Must attend 13 or more practices in every two week period when double practices start.  The objectives of this group are to compete at the National AAA (15 and over); State High School, Junior National, Senior National Championships and beyond.  Emphasis is on very high levels of endurance, strength and speed conditioning with technique refinement.  Participation in Sports Study Class, Film Study and weight training required.  (By coach approval only.)

SENIOR

For those swimmers who are usually 13 years old and over with the ability and desire to train with the commitment and intensity required to compete at the USA "AA" regional, and National levels.  Year-around training is stressed.  Emphasis is on high levels of endurance, strength, and speed conditioning with technique refinement.  Must attend 10 or more practices in every two week period when doubles start.  Participation in Sports Study Class required.  Weight training is required for high school athletes in this group.  (By coach approval only.)

TRANSITION 2

For swimmers usually 12-14 years old who have the ability and desire to train with a strong emphasis on stroke mechanics and a challenging conditioning regimen.  This is the final transitional group before Senior swimming.  This group will have the opportunity to experience many of the Senior training philosophies.

TRANSITION 1

For swimmers usually 10-13 years old who have the ability and desire to train with a strong emphasis on stroke mechanics and a more challenging conditioning regimen.  This is our beginning transitional group to Senior swimming.  This group will have the opportunity to experience some of the Senior training philosophy.

JUNIOR HIGH and HIGH SCHOOL

This group provides an opportunity for Jr. High and High School swimmers, not affiliated with a swim club, who have not been year-round swimmers, to train during the Jr. High and High School season.  These swimmers may elect to continue to train and compete in the Ohio Senior Championships, a USA Swimming meet, or Ohio Regional & Age Group State Champs (14 and under, who meet the qualification time standards).  This program will have strong emphasis on stroke mechanics and a challenging conditioning regimen.

AGE GROUP 3

For swimmers usually 9 - 12 years old who are ready for an introduction to endurance and speed training, as well as interval training.  There is a heavy emphasis on stroke mechanics and technique/skills.

AGE GROUP 2

For age group swimmers, usually 8 - 10, who wish to improve stroke, turn and start techniques.  There will be endurance and speed work training, as well as interval training.  There is a heavy emphasis on skills.

AGE GROUP 1

For age group swimmers, usually 8 and under, who wish to improve stroke, turn and start techniques, with minimal endurance and interval training.  There is a heavy emphasis on skills.

HAWK 1 and HAWK 2 Classes

Developmental classes will be offered by the Club for swimmers not yet ready for consistent competition.  Information concerning this group can be obtained from Coach Spurling who can be reached at 513-474-WIN1 (474-9461).  These classes offer excellent preparation for our competitive team.  Children participating in this program should have freestyle, backstroke and some breaststroke kicking skills.  A screening is required prior to enrollment to determine if a swimmer is ready for the program.  These classes are held at Stepping Stones center located approximately 2 miles south of CCDS on Given Road.
