I. Schedule Changes and Announcements
- CAC Mid-Winter
Classic Week!!!
- No practice Thursday,
January 24th and 31st due to the CCDS Championship meets.
- All T-2 and Sr/Nat
will have a.m. practice Thursday, January 24th from 5:10-6:50.
- No Friday p.m.
practice January 25th due to CAC Inv.
- Saturday January 26th
Sr/Nat group will practice 5:15-6:50 a.m. before the meet. Weights will be
6:50-7:50 a.m.
- Congratulations to
Sam Vester (10) who was high point winner at the NKC Inv. With 153 pts.
Great swimming Sam.
- Congratulations to
all our Seahawks who swam in the Southwest High School Classic. It was the
25th Classic and we swam strong. Lauren Weaver won the 50 free in 24.31. The
5th fastest time in Classic History! Also, congratulations goes to Andrew
Spurling who won the Classic Foundation Scholarship grant for showing
exceptional achievements in sport, scholarship, leadership and citizenship
during his High School career. With over 2800 swimmers this is the largest
swim meet in the world. We had the following swimmers place in the top 16 at
finals
- Lauren Weaver 50 free
1st., 100 free 6th, 100 fly12th. Cynthia Donovan 50 free 12th. Christina
Flessa 50 free 10th, 100 free 11th. Libby Hunsche 100 back 5th, 200 back
9th. Sammie Wheeler 100 breast 8th. Megan Tassone 100 breast
7th, 200 breast 10th. Lauren McClure 200 fly 11th.
- Andrew Spurling 100
free 10th, 200 free 8th, 100 back 7th, 200 back 13th. Kevin Louis 100 fly
12th. Bryan Bedacht 100 fly 11th, 200 fly 9th, 200 I.M. 9th , 400
I.M. 7th.
- We need families to
help provide the food for hospitality for our MidWinter Invitational Jan
25-27. If you can help by providing an appetizer, soup, or dessert on one
of the meet days, please contact Karen McGoff at

II. Status Of Meet Entries
- CAC Mid-Winter
Invitational;January 25-27, 2008: This meet is closed. More information will
follow the week of the meet.
- Milford Ares Swim
Team (MAST) February Invitational; February 8-10, 2008: Entries are closed.
More information will be available the week of the meet.
- Ohio Regional
Championship Meet; February 16-18, 2008, (Mason Rec Center): This meet
should be attended by all swimmers who do not have all of their State times.
Information will be available soon.
- Dayton Raider Winter
Invitational; February 29- March 2, 2008: Age Group swimmers will attend
this meet. The coaches will pick the events. More information will be
available soon.
- Ohio Senior Meet:
Feb.29-Mar. 2, 2008 (Miami U): All senior swimmers must attend this meet.
Information will be available soon.
- Ohio State
Championship Meet; March 14-16, 2008 (Keating): All swimmers who have State
times are required to swim at this meet. This is an important meet for our
team. Some swimmers who do not have individual times will be swimming on
relays.
- Sectionals; March
27-30, 2008 (IUPUI): All swimmers who have Sectional cuts must attend this
meet.
III. Coaches Corner
- For the 14th year
Head Coach Spurling and PCY Head Coach Mike Leonard announced the Waycross
Community Television at finals. “It was a great 25th Classic and this year
Olympic Champs Rowdy Gain and Sabir Muhamad stopped by the booth to provide
even more excitement.” –Coach Spurling- Check it out on Waycross!
- Seahawks big week for
our CAC Inv. Set up your run to the Championships by having a great week of
practice. Go Hawks!
